You've picked our hobbies best transportation to the past.<br />The set surprises me, enthralls me, and continues to captivate my interest since the first day I set out to work it 3 years ago.<br />I am slowly creeping up on 40% complete and loving every minute of it.<br />Are you collecting raw or graded? Posted By: <b>Anonymous</b><p>i always wanted t206 cards when i was growing up and about 2 months ago i dove in headfirst. i bought a binder and pages and have about 35 cards already. I'm a purist- even when I buy graded cards, i take them out of the slab and put them in the binder. looking at all of them in the book makes me so happy. they are like individual pieces of art, time machines- so pure and full of wonder. <br /><br />condition isn't all that important to me, and value means nothing. i love the cards for the cards.<br /><br />question- anybody else like taking cards out of the slabs? if so, how do you do it? i am afraid i will end up damaging a card someday with my method of (gasp) stepping on part the of the slab that has the grading info and sliding the card out (carefully)

Posted By: <b>James Gallo</b><p>I have been to the T-206 museum, they have a nice gallery and a nice list, but they don't list which players are southern and which are minor leaguers.<br /><br /><br />I will problaby collect lower grade with hopefully a minimum grade of SGC 30.<br /><br />HOF and tough cards maybe a bit lower, however it really depends on what comes my way.<br /><br />I am not worried about backs at this point.<br /><br />I have Scot Reader online book and Lew Lipsets Encyclopedia so any other good resources....?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />James Gallo<br><br>Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

I was given a few as a gift about 8 years ago and recently have begun purchasing a few from board members and ebay. <br /><br />I know I will never complete a set, even minus the big 4, so I would like to focus my collecting is some form. I initially thought about portraits but would then miss on some great action poses. Lately I have been think about some team sets. Of my first 30 cards, 4 are Cincinatti players, so that would seem like a good start.<br /><br />What I really need is a checklist of players that shows teams and variations. Positition might be nice too, if I decide to collect catchers or some other position.<br /><br />I have not been able to find such a checklist. The closest I have come is the list on MLBVintage.com but it cannot be copied. Any help would be appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks

I however only have a list of the minor leaguers in a Beckett guide I bought back in 2000 to use as a checklist. So if you wanted to by a Beckett Guide (Not the magazine the big book) it would provide both of your requests because it lists Southern leaguers and the minor leaguers separate from the rest.<br /><br />Hope this helps ,<br /><br />Troy
