Posted By: Cobby33
Hi All-

I just discovered a group of B&W cards of Oakland Oaks players. They appear to be from the 1940's and have 2 different backs: Remar Baking Co. and Smiths (a clothing store). Sorry, no scans.

I don't have my SCD catalog handy (assuming they're even in there). Does anyone know what these are and whether they're at all unique?

Thanks in advance!

Edited to add: I just checked eBay (duh) and there are a similar bunch on there for about $10/ea.

It has Charlie Dressen, George Kelly (the HOFer), Billy Martin, Jackie Jensen and three important Negro League players--Artie Wilson, Alonso Perry and Parnell Woods. It also happens to be Parnell Woods' only known card. For an inexpensive set, it's good stuff.

--Chad
