Posted By: Jim Ganley
Hello,

My Great Grand Father (Robert S. (Bob) Ganley) played on the 1909 Washington Senators Team along with Walter Johnson and other Hall of Fame players. I have his original Barr-Farnham Photo Post Card Co. Player Album of the 1909 Washington Bass Ball Club which was presented to each player on the team and includes original photo post cards of the entire Team, the Manager, the Trainer and individual photo cards of all the players which include:

Washington Base Ball Club 1909
Joe Cantillon Manager
J.W. I have many Original Photo's, all of which have been loaned to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY who made copies for their Library since they had very little of the 1909 Washington Team.

I am also planning on selling my complete, graded set of T206 Washington Senators tobacco cards:

Clyde MilanPSA EX 5 03633868Sweet Caporal350 Subjects
Bill ShipkePSA EX 5 05469811Piedmont350 Subjects
George McBridePSA EX 5 (MK) 01685601Piedmont350 Subjects
Jim DelahantyPSA EX 5 07075280Piedmont350 Subjects
Dolly GrayPSA EX 5 01650494Piedmont350 Subjects
Bob GroomPSA EX 5 05469763Piedmont350 Subjects
Gabby StreetPSA EX 5 (MK) 01685764Sweet Caporal350-460 Subj
(Catching)
Gabby Street PSA EX 5 03642899Sweet Caporal350 Subjects
(Portrait)
Bob GanleyPSA EX 5 30879035Piedmont150 Subjects
Germany SchaeferPSA EX 5 05506664Sweet Caporal350-460 Subj
Wid Conroy PSA EX 5 (MK) 04450304TolstoiAssorted Subj
(with Bat)
Wid Conroy PSA VG-EX 4 06348394Piedmont150 Subjects
(Fielding)
Jesse TannehillPSA VG-EX 4 04461266Piedmont350 Subjects
Bob UnglaubSGC 60 EX 5 1180834-007Piedmont350 Subjects
Kid Elberfeld PSA VG-EX 4 11130958Sweet Caporal350 Subjects
(Fielding)
Kid Elberfeld SGC 30 Good 2 1189765-033Piedmont350 Subjects
(Portrait)
George BrownSGC 50 VG/EX 4 1157065-001Sweet Caporal350 Subjects
Walter JohnsonPSA VG 302543268Sovereign350 Subjects
(Portrait)
Walter JohnsonPSA VG 301811678Sweet Caporal350 Subjects
(Hands at Chest)

I was planning on listing these items on eBay but I would like your opinion as to how I should proceed with placing these items up for sale. Is eBay my best option? Should I try selling the T206 cards as a Set or would you recommend selling them seperately?

I would be very greatful for any advice and suggestions you might have for me. I am not a "collector" so I'm trying to get a feel for the value of these items.

If you like, I can send you pic's of any of these items.

Thank You,
Jim Ganley (jganleysr@verizon.net)
Posted By: Daniel Bretta
Mastronet in my opinion would be the way to go with the postcard album...The T205's would probably do best as single card auctions on ebay.

Posted By: davidcycleback
Your grandfathers's postcar album and other items would sell well in a Mastro, Sotheby's or other major auction. I'm sure a 1909 team Senators presentation album from the estate of one of the players would go for big bucks at Mastro or Sotbeby's. I bet some Net54 readers are drooling right now.

Reviving an old thread to see if anyone has seen any Barr-Farnham postcards (the actual postcards?) These are some of the proofs and the album they came in. The bottom picture is whose estate these originated from according to his great grandson, above. The album is approx. 6" x 8".

Leon-Nice piece! I see the images with a Heritage Auction credit. Are they in an upcoming Heritage Auction or a past one?

Thanks Jay. It, the album including all photos, was in a Goodwin auction from approx. 12 yrs ago and a more recent Heritage one. It's not going to auction as far as I know.

What was the job of "Bill McNeil, Rubber"? And please don't respond "rubber" unless you can explain what a "rubber" is? Thanks.

Reviving this old thread again for a new pickup. This one was made in 1910. It's the Census Bureau
