Posted By: T Engle
Any stories out there of your best buy of all time?

Maybe off Ebay, a garage sale, or a friend, and they had no idea of the actual value.

I know this has been brought up before, but I am interested in reading some new stories.

Posted By: warshawlaw
I bought two cards together, an E card I wanted and a rare W card I did not want. I then traded the W card for several T cards I needed to someone who was a specialist in the other cards. The Ts are probably "worth" more than what the other card is; we'll never know since I'm not selling them anyway. A "best buy" in my book.

Posted By: Joe Jones
I recently bought 24 Raw T206's for vg pricing. Just got the report back from PSA that they are all 5's 6's and 7's.One of the 7's happened to be a SLer which is an extra plus!

Posted By: daryle
I stumbled across some cards at a card shop back in 1995. The owner had an album full of tobacco cards (T205/T206) and caramel cards (probably 50-75 E90-1, E90-2, E90-3, E102, etc.... and 10-20 Goudeys)probably 200-250 cards total (should have bought all the caramels but at the time.....)Anyway, I thumbed thru one day and found these......E90-1 Speaker, T206 Marquard, follow thru w/Lenox back, T206 Herzog w/Lenox back, T206 O'Hara, St.Louis (trimmed, three borders, bottom name plate still there) and a 1933 Goudey Moe Berg. Got all them for $50....Then 8 days later, back in the shop.....same album.....E90-1 Fromme, T206 Abbaticchio w/EPDG backs and Hugh Duffy w/Tolstoi back....all 3 for $40......also got this card that came from album but he had it in showcase......N172 Pud Galvin ($150). Also, found a pack of Pirate Cigarettes at a flea market. Had 9/10 cigarettes in pack.....$25

Posted By: daryle
Forgot one......I did a deal with a major card dealer back in 1995. Traded something (can't remember what is was) anyway, "it" had a market value of about $400-$500......got these.....(7) W600 Sporting Life Cabinets (Magee, Camnitz, Konetchy, Tannehill, Milan and Sparks) and......this is the "goodie" an N172 DUMMY HOY in probably VG-EX or so with staining........not a bad trade

Posted By: Andrew Parks
I bought 61 cards 2 years ago:

39 E102's which ranged in SGC 30 to 60 and consisted of two Miller Fieldings, a Cobb, and a ton of HOFers. The only cards it lacked for a complete set was Doyle bat, Wagner Fldg., Schmidt, Smith, and Matty.

21 T206's with 2 Red Cobbs and a Baker and others...ranging in sgc 40-60.

1 T202 which graded an SGC 84.

I sold one of the Miller Fieldings and the T202 for what I paid for the whole lot.
