Posted By: Cobby33
This being my first National, I'm wondering if there's any need to get there early (i.e. first day or two) before "everything" is gone. I'm looking for a couple of the more scarce pre-War issues and I'm wondering if I get there over the weekend, if it might be too late - or is it simply hit and miss?

Anyone have any similar experiences? Wisdom?

Thanks!

Jay's tip is an excellent one.For the Nationals I used to contact dealers that I dealt with before and asked if they were setting up and if so what table numbers. I'd get the layout and circle the locations and made a beeline for them. Some of the best stuff flew out the door during the dealer set ups and advanced sneak previews...it was quite a thrill. Also sometimes its good to ask if they have things "under the table." I found some great stuff from dealers at the National who had things they hadn't put out yet just by asking.

Cheers.

Ricky
