I'm guessing that's why the front was so well preserved but why there's apparently some subtle damage to the reverse. I personally think cards like that are some of the great values of the hobby.

And there is always the chance of a couple of spider wrinkles that the seller just couldn't see -- which is why third-party grading of cards sold on the internet is so important: the card looks great, but upon closer inspection there is something wrong.
