Posted By: Joann
Just curious as to whether there are any criteria associated with reporting shill bidding to ebay. I really don't think this would be enough, except that my gut tells me that's exactly what it is. Also, the new "Report This Item" option does not include shill bidding as one of the reporting reasons. Maybe it's for the same reason - too subjective and hard to tell.

Anyone ever successfully report shill bidding to ebay (besides the infamous brsz catch)?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8802005857&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

(Hey - it was listed in the vintage section or I never would have seen it!!)

Joann

Posted By: Joann
lol. Good points. Probably exactly why it's not a drop down option in the reporting area.

I did notice the bidder had won a few other Bonds cards. Nevertheless, I always look sideways at a low feedback bidder that bids in small increments and stops where you might think they would risk becoming high bidder. I tend to stay away from anything that even looks like that - just on principle or something.

J

Posted By: Joann
lolol. I know Joe - I almost couldn't even click on it.

Maybe as far as the bidding pattern it is a close call and I was a little quick on the conclusion it was shady. But it's still close enough for me to stay away. Even more out of anger than any thought of unfair price. Oh well - I'll stay cautious and let Cobby take the fliers on the shiny cards!

J
