Posted By: fkw
I saw this the first day, but wanted to let anyone who has or may bid on it know the card is not authentic, it is a doctored reprint. For those that cant tell the difference, the hat should never touch the border. On authentic cards there is a gap between the border and the top of Ruth's hat.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1933-GOUDEY-BABE-RUTH-144-PGC-1-Prca.1930-RARE-Great_W0QQitemZ8799588851

Posted By: fkw
I have wrote eBay in the past, I dont do that anymore, it never seems to bring action when I write them. I also got suspended a few years back for auction tampering when I was telling bidders they bid on a fake.

I did write the seller the first day, told them how to tell the difference and even added links to pictures of authentic cards. Never heard back. I believe they knew it was bogus when they listed it, as they used the private auction feature.

If you go to the grading companies website it has a Warning that some of their holders have been tampered with. I also wrote them and gave them a link to the auction, I havent heard back from them either.

I was just going to wait til last day and put a warning here. I guess someone will learn a hard lesson. But the redflag is to never bid on a "Private Auction".

Edited to say Steve you have a good memory
