Posted By: Josh
You guys and girls seem to be the best in the business at finding things out about turn of the century players, so I've got one for you:

James Downey was a shortstop for the 1902 Toronto Maple Leafs minor league Championship team. Our upcoming auction is going to feature a variety of items from his personal estate, including cabinet cards, bats, contracts and letters with great baseball content. Also coming out of his estate was a game used jersey from Macon of the Southern League (which dates to the very early 1900's.
I have searched and searched and am unable to find any information about whether Downey played for Macon.
If anyone has any old Reach Guides or the sort that might be able to identify Downey as a player for this Macon team, would be a tremendous help to us.
If you've got a minute and can check a Macon roster, say from 1895-1915 to see if Downey appears at all, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance for any information!
Josh
