Posted By: Keith
Hello all,

I just found a pretty neat looking vintage baseball uniform at an estate auction. On the front in Red Felt is written Magee A. A. On the back in red felt is "Stack's Market, Castor and Hartell"
The jersey and pants have red piping. The jersey is size 36, and pants size 34. The tag on both reads Players Uniform Co. Philadelphia PA. I live in the Philadelphia area and believe castor and hartell is located in the Frankford section of the city. Also with the jersey are 2 wool blue and white socks/stirrups.

I was curious about the age of the uniform. I don't know much about vintage uniforms, but looked interesting and was cheap enough to take a run at.
Sorry if the photos are too large, don't really know how to resize them.

Thanks
Keith

Posted By: Steve
My suggestion is to go to the address provided on the back of the shirt and see if the business is still there. Or call the recreation or local historical society and inquire about the league.

It appears to be from the 60's IMO

Steve

Posted By: davidcycleback
I'm no modern uniform expert and don't pretend to have great insight, but the style of writing on back was common circa 1950s (circa meaning 1950s plus or minus). From someone who has collected old baseball cards like everyone else, it overall appears consistant with a uniform of the period.
