Posted By: barrysloate
Thursday and Friday afternoon from eastern Long Island. That usually costs an extra day than if I mail them from Brooklyn. The post office sometimes does well.
By the way, the site is now online.

Posted By: davidcycleback
Barry, I it's think legal to post a link. I think it is okay practice for an outside non-eBay auction like yours to be able to post a link to the auction at the start and before the end.

Posted By: Anonymous
I don't know what the problem is....

I think I was having the same problem in that the old page was opening up but finally I got the new page to open up. Then I just tried again and pulled up the old page. I've been using firefox all day.

Then I try with IE and it opens up the new page.

Try a different browser or maybe empty your cache or temp files

Brian E.

Posted By: barrysloate
Hey John- There's a joke in there somewhere, but I am missing it. I guess you are referring to the blurry photo. What can you do.
For those having trouble getting on to the website please try the link which is supplied by the network54 site. Just click on "auction sites" and go to my link. If people are still having trouble by the morning, I'll call my web designer and get it straightened out.

Posted By: barrysloate
Now I get it- when you click to enlarge the Yum Yum you get the Old Judge of Commy. Yipes- how can that be? I'm on the case. Thanks for pointing it out.

Posted By: leon
As is the continuing policy, of the board, any of the auction houses are ok to come on and post a polite link, without overdoing it, on the main board. We have always allowed the others AND Barry is even a contributor. He get's double special privileges....regards

http://www.sloateauction.com/

Posted By: davidcycleback
I think it's nice to have an "about" for an auction or similar page. The page owner might fear it comes across as boasting, but strangers find it good to know the owner knows what he's doing.

Posted By: Bryan Long
I could not agree with you more. Now if I could just win a lot in that auction I would be happy. I guess I need to spend more money

My website: http://photobucket.com/albums/b45/trib01/

Posted By: barrysloate
The only way to win a lot is to get those qualifying bids in! There are always a few lots that people feel they got for a good price so don't get discouraged yet (this message brought to you from the fine people at Barry Sloate Auctions).

Posted By: barrysloate
Just a reminder that my current telephone auction closes this Thursday Nov. 17 at 6:00 PM EST. There is still time to both register and bid. Please note that previous auctions have usually lasted 3-4 hours past the official closing, so plan your strategy accordingly. It does get quite busy during peak hours so do not get discouraged if you get several busy signals. We will stay open as long as calls are coming through and everyone will get a chance to place his final bid. Good luck to all who are participating.

Posted By: barrysloate
The highlight of the auction was the N167 Welch, which sold with the juice for $31,165! And the winning bidder was: Mr. XYZ (no relation to Mr. X).
I'll have all the final bids posted on my website by late this afternoon. It was a great success and I thank everyone who participated and gave it their best shot.

Posted By: Greg
It was fun taking part in an auction where you call to check on your bids instead of using a computer - I haven't done that in years.
Barry -- when I just checked your site at 2:20, I'm still getting the November 16 6:00 pm bids, not the final results - am I doing something wrong?

Posted By: barrysloate
Unfortunately, I don't know computers very well, and there really isn't anything you can do wrong except click the link. Maybe it takes time, or one of the computer people on the board can explain it.
