REA just got most of my cards back, graded.

Posted By: <b>Julie Vognar</b><p>I'm so shocked, I lost my appetite...many more disappointments than pleasant surprises...there was a '58 Clemente, autographed, that I paid about $20 for--the signature is real...<br /><br />They made some mistakes, but I made a bunch, too. Of course, if they can grade a g-vg '34 Grove a 60...maybe they're wrong in the other direction too.

Posted By: <b>Julie Vognar</b><p>about the Black Sox Zeenuts..but it doesn't really matter what Mark says about a reserve...if a lot of people want them, they'll go high, and if not many do, they'll go low. I AM going to fight to have them in separate lots...<br />The W514 Felsch and Williams DID NOT GRADE, because they are cut INSIDE the dotted line..although very neatly. The others graded fine (except I was disappointed in the national Game Jackson getting a 60..geez...). Standard Bisacuit Jackson is a 4, just like it was when I popped it out. The CJ Cicotte is too high (in keeping with grading companies ignoring stains on CJs). I couldn't ask about EVERYTHING.<br /><br />Some of the OJs did very well (2 Hoys, 2 Kellys, the Griffith--I think_- and the Duffy. ) And they will mostly all be offereed separately (including the Mack--which is just a whisp of a picture!),high or low grade.<br /><br />You won't BELIEVE what's gonna be in the next REA! I think Rob told me so the word would get around, but I'd better ask. The guy who wrote all over the back of Mickey Welch is ALSO famous--dunno what his name is.<br /><br />I'm not going to say much about the N162s and N300s right now--Scott F, your Keefe got a 60 (N162), the Anson did very well,(N300) the delahanty did better than the Keefe (N300).--they apparently put more stock in centereing than lack of creases! The Ewing is slightly touched=up , as it was when I bought it, and you will be shown WHERE.<br /><br />The Jackies are all 5s, 6s and a 7. That's impossible--one of them is surely lesser-conditioned...<br /><br />Oh the N332-8 Ewing-- a--40, or 50 or something! Incredible! Nice card, but...<br /><br />On the whole, I'd rather make my own mistakes than rely on SGC and PSA to make them for me!<br /><br /><img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/jphotos/BN3382.jpg">

Posted By: <b>Julie Vognar</b><p>He expects to at least HEAR tomorrow or the next day. <br /><br />As with my '56 Topps set (have 107 T202s), he only got "selected" ones graded--I wish he'd picked out the nicest cards, instead of the most famous players. With the '56 Topps, I didn;'t hear one grade under a 5--which is so dumb, because Mays, Koufax, Clemente--were all old cards that maybe my son collected, and I built the set up around them. Harridge was an 8 (isn't that FASCINATING?), Williams was a 6...who cares....

When he says the Standard Biscuit Jackson is a "4", does he really mean as "40"? Why did he have a M-101-4 (or whatever)graded by PSA..do M101-4 collectors like PSA too? I<br /><br />Actually, the idea of getting all those couponless, spider-webbed Zeenuts--OH the 1911 Zeenut Weaver got a--a 60? Can that be right?? Good LORD!!! Maybe he said 50. STILL TOO HIGH.<br /><br />Grading companies don't have a brain between them!!!!!! Oh yeah Ben--the Caruthers N162 I traded you for got a 60! Are you just not listing prewar cards which graded lower than expected and just pointing out the ones which graded too high or is this just another case of "look who is submitting the cards to the company" as opposed to Joe Schmoe who the big fellers have never heard of...
