If they used a "pin the tail on the donkey" approach (proven to be better than the dart board) they would be closer than their experts.<br /><br />I would grade that card a 1 on a technical scale, a wonderful on an eye appeal scale.

Like the w514, I do not think that we should try to assess the preferences of a kid more than a half century ago. All choices regarding what should be included and what should be cut off were made by the original eater of this crap. If he had to suffer through the soggy mess his mother put in front of him - he should be able to choose how to cut out his hero without our belated value system applied to his selections.<br /><br />It was right for him, therefore it was a 10. The degree of preservation is fantastic. By all reasonable criteria it may still be a 10. But under the slab cops regime, it is a 1.

Many people also cut this out with the card, which is why you find some like that today. That advertizing however was not intended to be part of the card itself. Maybe someday I will become less lazy enuff to learn what to others are rudimentary skills.<br /><br />Anyway, the ad is similar to what Rhett has shown, but even more associated with the ballplayer's picture, than his example.<br /><br />For a reasonable presentation of this I can only offer Old Cardboard Wheaties Series 1, 1935.<br /><br /><br />

Besides, I can't say that I've ever seen any of the Wheaties panels graded.<br /><br />I think the Wheaties panels are some of the more colorful items to collect.
