Posted By: warshawlaw
Got the 2006 big book today. Nice commentary on the cover about the way the hobby is going, Bob--he chose images of cards of Stock, Bonds and Cash on the front, Silver (Flint), Money, and Gold on the back.

Posted By: Bob Lemke
I'm open to suggestions for a "theme" for the 2007 cover. First person to suggest the eventual winning theme gets a free copy. Everybody else on the Forum will get a chance to send us scans or loan us cards for illustrations. Make your card famous!

Posted By: Bill Stone
I suggest the theme of " Young and Old Collectors" It always impresses me when I heard stories of grandad taking his grandson/grandaughter to a card show ---they may have totally different interests but love the challenge of collecting --ps as long as both vintage and modern cards will be grouped together this should be an appropriate theme.

Posted By: Bob Lemke
David, I don't think this works because there hasn't been one since, what, 1967? We need to be able to depict one very recent card on the cover, along with a 1950s-1970s card and a pre-war.

Posted By: Daniel Bretta
I'm getting in early on the 2009 cover. It has to be a tribute to the T206 set for it's 100th anniversary. The book should include a photo of the Wagner and Plank cards and you could tie it into the new cards by picturing one of the neovintage Topps 206 cards.

Posted By: Bob Lemke
Glen, I don't expect to be here for the 2009 book, but you've got a good idea. I don't recall your monetary-theme suggestion from back in 2004, but if you did advance such an idea, I'll trust your memory and send you a 2006 or 2007 book. Hey, if George Harrison can forget where he heard the tun for My Sweet Lord" . . .

Daniel, I think your idea might be too esoteric for the retail book buyer as it does not allow for the use of recognizable names.

We might consider banned players if anybody really big takes a fall for the steroids.
