Posted By: john/z28jd
I thought their sweet cap pins holder was pretty bad too.Its too bad because i like GAI's holders for the few Old Judge cards i have in them.I was actually thinking of getting this since i dont have one yet and i passed on it because of the holder

http://cgi.ebay.com/1910-Bobby-Byrne-Sweet-Caporal-Pin-GAI-7-NMT_W0QQitemZ5243885943QQcategoryZ31718QQssPageNam eZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Posted By: tbob
I sold a couple of Fatima team cards on ebay and the one which didn't do very well was the GAI graded Cubs, very undergraded (I thought) and very nice. The problem was I couldn't get a decent frigging scan from either my digital camera or the scanner because of the license plate holder they stuck it in. Someone needs to tell them about that holder (I know there are several guys on this board who say they are best buds with the GAI guys) because to put it in a word, the holder sucks. I have a PX7 Domino Disc Cicotte in the same holder as the Byrne above. Because of the high grade, I haven't cracked it out yet but it's a pain and awful looking.

Posted By: Peter_Spaeth
Their holders for Red Man Tobacco cards (sorry to bring up such an ultramodern issue among this crowd of afficionados) are just as bad as these two examples. I can't find a pic but the holder is the size of a comic book with the card sitting in the middle.

Posted By: Judge Dred (Fred)
Can I assume that the holders being discussed are all from GAI? Is GAI using these "ugly" holders for odd sized cards?

Posted By: Lee Behrens
I had a T202 in one of those ugly holders, if you saw mw at the Nationals you saw the thing. I sent it to SGC for crossover and it came out trimmed.

Butt Ugly is all I have to say

Posted By: Betty
I, too, have a GAI holder that rates as a super ugly--It holds a T201 Mecca and I called them and told them had I know they were going to put my beautiful card in something you'd find at the Wal-Mart check-out rack, I'd never had submitted the card. They admitted that their holders for Tall-Bays were "lacking". Never submit and off-size card!

Posted By: Geoff Litwack
I'm the one who bought Bob's T200 and it is a beautiful card for the grade (and was a good deal!) but the holder makes me want to cry. Too bad it came after I sent out my most recent SGC submission - I'm crossing it over for sure as soon as I can.
