Posted By: John
I am in the process of putting together the Pirate's team from the E254 Stars of the Diamond (I am down to two, maybe, Clarke and Wilson). Not a daunting task by any stretch unless the Getz Pittsburg version actually exists. He never played for the Pirates but is listed by Lipset (but not by Lemke). I have seen him on the lists of other collectors listed as a Pirate as well. Does this card exist?

Posted By: John
That is what I kinda figured Julie, I just wanted to make sure before I closed the book on Getz. As I said in the original post, I know of a few others that have Getz Pittsburg on their lists. I double-checked Larry Fritsch's article from VCBC#8 as well. He does not mention Getz. Thanks for the response.

Posted By: Todd Schultz
I see where Beckett lists a Colgan's Getz Pittburg variaton, and Lipset also lists Getz for the Pitt team in e270. I do see where Getz played for the Pirates in 1918, and was not in the big leagues during 1911-1913, so maybe he tried and failed to make the Pittsburg club after Colgan's printed a card?

Posted By: Todd Schultz
He shows in e270 on Pittsburg, at least according to Lipset. So if Colgan's got it wrong once, why not twice? Anyone have a red border Getz?
