Posted By: <b>Mike Pugeda</b><p>Wow, I haven't had my name brought up that much since I dated the prinicipal's daughter (kidding)<br /><br />Jeff, as others have stated, it is a 1911 Pinkerton PC with blank-back.<br />I believe they also came with scorecard backs although I'm not sure which are tougher to come by.<br /><br />The actual Pinkerton cabinets (T5?) are consederably scarcer and $$$$$.<br /><br />Mike Pugeda

Posted By: <b>John</b><p>I have a blank-backed postcard style Pinkerton of Babe Adams. I have read that these were reproduced in the 50's. Are there any defining characteristics that differentiate the period blank-backs from the newer issues? The jury is still out on the one that I own.

To clarify my previous statement/question regarding my uncertainty of its age, the card was bought from a postcard dealer who told me that it was most likely a reproduction from the 50's. As much as I hoped otherwise, I did not press for any more details as I only paid $4 (last year). The card measures about 5 3/8" by 3 1/2", is on thin semi-gloss stock, and does not appear to have once been attached to a backing. Hopefully this description is consistent with other blank-backed T5's. I have no others to compare. A nice piece for a Pirate's collector nonetheless.
