Posted By: Bryan
Seller says,

"the second also has a ruth and its a sports king gum pack also looks terrific.I bought these at a flee market and the cards are gauranteed authentic.there does not appear to be any gum in the packs."

If I am not mistaken didn't these cards come with gum in the packs. Never opened one so I wouldn't know for sure.

What I do know is those wrappers are no where near legit. After owning a couple of Goudey wrappers, you can clearly see the folds are not correct.

There are so many red flags in this auction it makes my head hurt.

Posted By: jackgoodman
Just click on the sellers current id and you'll go to another screen that shows the member's profile, feedback, etc. On the right is a box with "id history, items for sale, etc". Here's roysteelem's:

http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=cards4u2c2&iid=5234148177&frm=284

Posted By: steve k
Actually this auction has some historical significance. Most probably the first time and most probably the last time that you'll ever see an autograph of George Washington offered along with an item featuring Dave Ragone.

Posted By: Mark Macrae
All 1933 Sport King and 1933 Goudey packs contained one card and one piece of gum. The gum itself was slightly smaller than the card. It was scored twice, so that an 8 year-old's tiny fingers could snap it into 3 (roughly) equal size pieces. The flavor was spearmint and in talking with original collectors the flavor lasted for just a few seconds. Back in the 1980's there was a small find of unopened packs of Sport Kings. When those packs were opened it was learned that the gum was placed up against the backs of the cards. Goudey's main business was gum.For anyone to suggest that there is no gum in an 'unopened' pack is ignorant. For anyone to buy such an item without investigation is just plain dumb.
