Posted By: cmoking
you can also use the - sign to get out PSA cards, such as

T206 -psa

that way you won't get any PSA graded cards! should be useful to many on this site, eh?

Posted By: BlackSoxFan
To be more specific..you put the - sign infront of whatever you want ebay to throw out.... if you want it to remove exact phrases... use the - sign followed by quotes around whatever it is you want out.

Regards,
Black Sox Fan

- - - - - - - - -

I'm Smart Enough To Know, There Are A Lot Of People Who Know More Than I Know

BlackSoxFan.com
email me

Posted By: RC McKenzie
About 6 years ago I sent a T213 Coupon Cobb to psa. It came back a 3, which was about right, but it came back in a T206 Cobb Holder.

I listed it on ebay as a T213 Coupon Cobb PSA 3 error and the card did not sell at $299. No bids

I relisted it the next day as a PSA 3 T206 Cobb tougher back and it sold for arounf $500.

Posted By: RC McKenzie
I suppose it could be construed as a tactic. I wish i had that exact T213 Cobb bat off card back.

If you want to argue that T206 is superior in monetary value to T213 then you have missed my point.

Posted By: BlackSoxFan
I am not arguing that.... your sale tactics were flat out dishonest. period! I don't know enough specifics to comment on to what degree you were out of line...but you were out of line ... even if you went to great lengths to describe the reality of the situation in the auction description ... you should be ashammed for doing that.

Regards,
Black Sox Fan

- - - - - - - - -

I'm Smart Enough To Know, There Are A Lot Of People Who Know More Than I Know

BlackSoxFan.com
email me

Posted By: RC McKenzie
I'm far from ashamed, a T213 Cobb in any holder will be worth more than a t206 in due time. There are so many new collectors coming into the hobby that some might realize that a T206 Cobb Coupon is worth more than a common back.

It's a nomenclature issue that you brought up. As usual, I'm the bad guy. Hate the game.

Posted By: BlackSoxFan
What a crock.... you took advantage of the situation to try and sell your card...i don't care what the value was...... you deliberately mislead interested buyers in an attempt to get them to both view and bid on your item!

I am playing the game, doesn't mean i'm gonna sell out just to make a buck! You sound like adam moraine!

Regards,
Black Sox Fan

- - - - - - - - -

I'm Smart Enough To Know, There Are A Lot Of People Who Know More Than I Know

BlackSoxFan.com
email me

Posted By: RC McKenzie
Not correct, Black sock, may I call you black sock?

I sold the card as a collector who relied upon psa's description. I sold the holder.

I was deferring to the experts.

Posted By: BlackSoxFan
I can't even believe you're attempting to make an argument here. This is a total joke and you deliberately used an illegal tactic to move a piece that you obviously didn't know how to move on your own merit. You have no credibility with me and i can't imagine that if other people get wind of this, that you will have any credibility with them either.

Regards,
Black Sox Fan

- - - - - - - - -

I'm Smart Enough To Know, There Are A Lot Of People Who Know More Than I Know

BlackSoxFan.com
email me

It's not about the price, i don't care if you sold it for 5 cents or 500 dollars.... let alone the moral issues, read ebay's listing policies...you violated them...plain and simple!

Regards,
Black Sox Fan

- - - - - - - - -

I'm Smart Enough To Know, There Are A Lot Of People Who Know More Than I Know

BlackSoxFan.com
email me

Posted By: Frank Wakefield
It is wrong to sell something as a T206 when you know it's a T213.

Forget about price, value, someone else's mistake... it is wrong.

I once heard a fellow attorney explain the concept of "conflict of interest" this way, "if you can't explain to your client in one sentence why it is ok that you did what you did, then you probably shouldn't have done it."

You can't sell a card as one thing when you know it's something else.

This is not meant as self-promotion, but I'd like the Board's opinion for future reference.
Thanks
