Posted By: DJ
You are moving to Buffalo? What did you do wrong?

Kidding. I'm in Buffalo all the time.

I have found Buffalo a truly dry area for vintage pre-war baseball cards. A lot of glossy items, Nascar, bad winters and signed photographs of the Bills but that's about it.

As far as shows go, you have Lyn Lake shows twice a year which is slightly less than okay for vintage stuff (depends on what dealers show up...SGC usually shows up) and that's about it really. There's usually one good show in Rochester, NY in February and Lyn Lake does two shows in Syracuse, NY a year.

There used to be some good shows and stores but like the Maine thread, everything closes shop. So sad.

DJ

Think of the positive side, if you open a baseball card store you will have no competition!
Also 1 hour from Toronto, 3 hrs from Cleveland(national), 3 hrs from Pittsburg
(Robert Morris), Ft Washington 7 hrs. All are fun road trips. Where are you
coming from gnuche

Posted By: DJ
I agree...I think you should open a card store! When I closed mine up in 1997, those who didn't spend enough were telling me to re-open it and that they missed "my treehouse".

Anyone know of any good card stores in Canada (Ontario/Toronto) that doesn't sell 90% hockey and maybe has a single mislabeled T206 in their case?

DJ
Posted By: John
My in-laws live in Buffalo. There are a few shops that carry 50'-60's items. The one shop I will often go to is called Bases Loaded on French Road. He occasionally picks up a few t206's but it is hit or miss. Good luck.
