Posted By: Sean Coe
Perhaps I lack imagination, but I see a ..stain not Honus Wagner. The ghost of P.T. Barnum is smiling at this one.

Posted By: Chris
Looks like a water spot or stain of some sort but not a "ghost image". This has become the latest rage in sport card collecting. It's like opening up a bag of lays and finding a chip that looks like Jay Leno, come on.

Posted By: T-Hunter
That is definately not a bleed-through.
You can look at the hair and tell that it is a different player.
You can also see a red hue behind the player, like a background.
I can definately see the players eyes, hair and collar.

Posted By: Chris
Looking at the scans provided it looks like Kid Elberfeld's hair. I still say
this is just crazy to collect, but to each his own.

Posted By: Brian Weisner

Ghost of Wagner? Not! There are only 2-3 Wagners known with Piedmont backs and none of them were ever inserted into packs. This is merely a wet sheet that wasn't stacked perfectly on top, so there may be a different player on the back. Besides, Wagner was never on a sheet with a Minor Leauger, so even the thought of this being Wagner is comical.

Be well Brian

Posted By: Judge Dred (Fred)

People have seen an image of the Virgin Mary on toast so seeing Honus Wagner on the back of a T206 doesn't surprise me... sometimes people see what they want to see...

Posted By: brian p
Was it the Virgin Mary? Dang if I didn't think it was the Son of God, which would command more in the marketplace, Jesus being the Babe Ruth of the vintage biblical collecting world.

Brian

Posted By: Josh K.
frankly, this type of "ghost" image doesnt do anything for me (ie background color from a wet sheet or bleed through). Everyone wants to call these ghost images, but I dont think they are.

To me, these are true ghost images (not mine):

http://www.t206museum.com/page/ra_ghost_back.html

http://www.t206museum.com/page/ra_ghost_back_field.html

http://www.t206museum.com/page/ra_ghost_mullen.html

http://www.t206museum.com/page/ra_ghost_laporte.html
