Posted By: jay behrens
Sadly, that picture was taken before I got stationed in Florida. Those were all the cards I bought while learning everything I could from Ron Oser and Bill Bosert while stationed in Philly. The t205s in the picture are the ones that came from the unopened HLC packs. The only missing from picture is the complete set of t201. I just put the one card in the pic. Didn't take a picture of any more pics of cards in my collection after that, regretably. I have the occassional photo of stuff in the background, but no other pics like this one.

Here's a shot of me set up at a Macrae show. My usualy spot next to the entrance to the cafateria.

That's a picture of the 1889 St Paul team. The back had the scores of all the games written on it. A piece I kinda wish I had back.

My bedroom after I joined the Navy in 1981. It got turned into a storage room for all of mine and Lee's cards. Gotta love the Velvetta Cheese box storage system.

Jay

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

Posted By: Richard
The large white borders and shrunk down image are the giveaway. I have a couple of these at home - they have a glossy finish and are the same size as a regular modern day card (2.5" x 3.5") rather than the larger, real 1953 topps size.

It also says "Topps Archives" on the back with the set serial number, I believe.

Inserting N cards ended in 1889.

Posted By: Daniel Bretta
I think the "C" on your Cobb and my Collins are a dead giveaway that these came from the same set of photos. It looks like you have a nice little collection of fan taken photos there. I really like that Robinson. If you ever look to sell those let me know.

Posted By: Bob Rousseau
I got that Robinson off Ebay a couple of years ago- and it was another one of those feelings of waiting for days for the auction to end and thinking "Man! I hope no one notices this!" I think I got it for something like $33. It turned out that the photographer took it on his honeymoon with his wife at Wrigley in 1947. I look at that photo and I think of what that man was going through that summer- it's amazing. A bonus here is the photographer seemed to pay attention to exposure when he shot the photo- Robinson's skin was so dark that alot of times you don't get much detail - particularly in something like a snapshot. With these kind of photos, you think "Man- wouldn't it be wild if I could find a snapshot of the player"- and if you do, that in itself is amazing enough- but to have it be a really good one? That's almost too much to believe.

I got that Dimaggio photo for something like $8, also on Ebay, as well as the Snider which was in a group of 3 Dodgers for again, something like $8.

Posted By: Bob Rousseau
Yes- got them off Ebay, I thought about two years ago, but I'm not certain. There was at least one or two other different photos up for auction at the time taken from a similar position in the park by the same photographer.
