I think signed cards add a little something and are unique if they are unordinary. I was an underbidder on the lucky board member who snatched up the Mayo Duffy and I envy Julie's Cuyler. Anyone out there have any signed T206's they want to sell me? DJ

A couple of years ago, he and Pete Rose had some kind of spat - Feller was pissed that Rose was signing autos in Cooperstown during the HOF weekend. Rose shot back something about Feller's autos being worthless since he has signed many millions. So this card is hurt by his "common" auto. But what if it was a different guy - say Jimmy Foxx? Or what about a lowly common that is auto'd - say by a guy that only played two or three years and was a complete unknown - so his auto would be hard to come by. I think a card like that would be interesting.

But the "F" in Feller is NO LONGER a backward lower case "F" and has not been in decades,(therefore, vintage) as Bob now signs the "F' in Feller as it now appears to look like the #2 with a high rising looped tail. I apologize, for the Feller signature study, I thought I could help out, though. I DO collect autographs on cards, I believe autographs enhance the card, as well as the value to some degree, of course. On July 23rd Bob will be at the Bob Feller Museum, I plan on having him autograph a 1952 Topps card, I picked up on a card show earlier this month. Card probably grades a STRONG VG+++. Which Bob CLEARY points out in baseballs' rule book, that it's against the rules of the game to gamble/bet on our beloved sport. At one time Bob even told me, the article number.I can't remember it though. Feller believes that because Rose broke the rules, and dishonored our sport, that Rose has no right to attend H.O.F. events/signings at Cooperstown, dispite Roses' accomplished feat, of all-time hits king. Posted By: DJI have a Marquard T206 (seems a lot of them in signed form exists) and are most common of all the T206's that I have seen. By 'vintage', I usually think during or around the time of the issued card and I believe that this is an eighties signature which doesn't excite me all too much. It's signed in a faded sharpie (which became common to autographs in the early-mid eighties). He has made a few variations to his signatures throughout. Either way, has anyone ever seen a Feller forgery? Why would anyone offer one? It makes a three cent index card worth fifty cents is all. Someone in the eighties once said that signed Feller baseballs are so plentiful that it will soon be harder to find unsigned balls. I have met Mr. Feller several times (I think eight) and all I can say is that I dislike him with a passion and have no use for him. Talk about an ego! DJ

Posted By: ZachI haven't met him but I know his autgraph is anything from rare....i'd rather have an unsigned goudey and his signature on a ball than a signed goudey of his. Also on some HBO special I think he said the rarest baseball is one without his signature..it seems like he does have an ego.

I wouldn't go so far as to say he is egotistical.Especially, when he speaks of his playing days,fans,children, and his military service. Feller is more proud of his military service than he is of his ball playing. I have known, and been friends with Feller for 10 years now. I have always regarded him as a classy individual. He has a running joke. It's as follows "Everyone in America either has my autograph, or they don't want it" .Therefore, Zach I think Feller was kidding with the comments he made on the HBO special. The signature is nice and neat (as his always are, which is a high compliment) and I think nicely placed. I wouldn't want Feller signing or writing his grocery list on all the Goudeys he can get hand on, but this one card is okay by me.

I remember a baseball art contest in a very old Beckett (probably early 90's) in which someone did a painting of a '52 Topps Feller, but left the signiture area blank. The artist then took it to a card show and had Feller sign in the spot where the facsimile would have gone.

There was a Feller on eBay recently like that and I have heard of a Mantle being done the same way. Adam, get what ever card you want signed anywhere on the card that you want. It's your card and your autograph experience. Some people like ballpoint or fountain pen, others like Sharpie. Some people like the autograph going up one of the sides and other prefer it across, some players sign the bottom of the '52s along the border under the marquee.
