Posted By: Scott Elkins
my two E90-1 Oakes cards have better color than my Nadja I recently picked up. I would venture to guess that the super color in your E92 Nadja accounted for the nice grade given the corners are Vg to VG/EX. That is a nice, clean and unfaded Oakes with very vibrant colors - Great Card!

As for recent pickups, they are (sorry no scans - took up too much space trying to scan those darn Cocoas last "new card" thread):

SGC 40 E104-1 Mack (Thanks Robert!)
SGC 10 E98 Mack "On the Crapper, w/Newspaper!" (Thanks again Robert)
Soon to be SGC 10 E98 Cobb (Ditto!)
SGC 40 Dockman Chance
SGC 40 E95 Cicotte (Thanks Wesley!)
SGC 30 E93 Collins (Ditto!)
SGC 30 E93 Brown (Ditto!)
SGC 40 E93 McGraw (Ditto Again!)
and a PSA 6 O/C 1959 Topps Mantle (Should go well with my SGC 60 T206 Rhoades Arm Extended that Jay and Lee are fascinated with!)

Most of the cards are PSA 4, SGC 50-60 or better and the rest are PSA 3 or SGC 40 and (1) Pro 5.5. I bought the Pro 5 years ago. I have 1 PSA 5. The HOF's are (6) SGC 40,s (1) SGC 50 and (2) PSA 2's. Talk about highly addictive. Thanks goes to Barry Sloate for helping me with a bulk of these cards. 61 cards in 12 days. At this rate I'll be finished by next month. Posted By: Mike Tucci (18colt)
I recently purchased a T-206 Cy Young (glove showing) with a Piedmont 350-460 series, factory 42 back (the tough one) on eBay from a Canadian seller at a decent price. I was able to win that auction in my opinion because (a) the seller was in Canada with just over 100 positive feedbacks, and based on past board discussions, a good number of buyers avoid sellers outside of the U.S. for a variety of reasons, (b) the card is in ugly shape condition wise, causing a lot of potential buyers to stop looking at the card, and (c) the scan of the back was hard to read, which kept the tough factory designation from jumping out at bidders.

Hey, I took a chance on this guy, and it turned out well (as have all of my non-US transactions to date). I know my T-206 cards, so authenticity was not an issue for me. The seller sent me an e-mail when he received my payment (I used an international money order), and sent another to confirm that he put the card in the mail along with a tracking number (the seller paid shipping/handling, including insurance). And this guy must be honest - he lives in Niagara Falls, and went to the trouble of mailing this from Canada (customs declaration and all) when he could have drove a few minutes across the border, had lunch, and mailed the card from a US post office.

Anyway, the card worked out well, and my need list for T-206 is down to 63 cards.

BTW -- I used to occasionally post here under the name "18colt", my eBay handle, but am now using my full name to comply with Leon's disclosure guidelines. Keep up the good work, Leon.

I tried bidding on a few including the Holland, but got completely annihilated at the auction's end. I believe that Leon snagged this one and a few others from that group and PreWarSports ended up with it. Anyway, I just had to try once more and I was surprised I won it. I honestly thought it would go much higher. I basically wanted one for a PCL type, as my main area of interest is Zeenuts, so I shan't be needing another....for now .

Best Regards,
Adam

Posted By: Brian
I'm not sure if you're being serious or sarcastic on the GAI Cobb. I think I picked it up for a decent price and Tolstoi Cobbs don't come along too often, poor condition or otherwise. I personally don't think the card is in poor condition, more like Fair. There aren't any creases and it doesn't look too bad in person. I'm very happy with it!

Brian
