Posted By: <b>Scott Elkins</b><p>The real reason I thought it was real (back when it was listed as a T206), was the vertical crease - where the cards were originally folded to fit into packaging. The seller is from Texas - where these show up. I would be more comfortable if the seller didn't have "0" feedback however. Looks real - but, who knows with a Zero Feedback seller??????????

Posted By: <b>leon</b><p>I agree but only somewhat. The best way to handle this is to see if the seller will talk on the phone, or as the other poster said, let someone pick it up on person. That could give a good indication of good or bad. I have one of my best SF Hess cards from an ebayer with about a 1 feedback and a "grandma" story. My best find ever came from an ebayer with 1 feedback who could barely read or write and had a blurry scan.......Moral- never say "always". I think this auction will be good...but would only bid (and I am not) if I made some other contact with the seller that exuded more confidence than just his listing....regards

However, although you can squeeze the truth out of a situation, I may not be able to determine with confidence from a phone conversation the same things which you can.<br /><br />Until I am up to that level of sophistication, I shy away from auctions which have characteristics as shown here. Specifically:<br /><br />- high value card should be slabbed, but isn't<br />- seller has limited feedback<br />- "All sales are final"<br /><br />Perhaps if I wanted the card I may feel differently. But this combination of circumstantial evidence gives clear warning.<br /><br />And I will certainly agree that evidence is not proof.<br /><br />Good luck, and let us know what happens!<br /><br />

And there is more to this story.<br /><br />The seller has come up with two dozen or so cards attractive to a diverse collecting audience. Some are slabbed. It looks like a potential good start for an entry in this marketplace. He could be legit.<br /><br />As Leon points out, often bargains are available from persons with limited feedback. Particularly if they are trying to start up an eBay operation.<br /><br />Evidence is not proof.

I took a risk because the scans looked good and I figured I could haul him into court with no effort if I was cheated. As long as they will let you come to pick up the card and pay for it in person, WTF, go for it.

Raymond has <br />supposedly been warming up behind the stands, but apparently had visited a <br />saloon across the way, and swapped a ball for two shots of whiskey. Raymond hits <br />two batters, allows two hits and tosses one wild, and the Pirates win, 6–3. A <br />furious McGraw suspends the pitcher indefinitely. Bugs will be back on July 5th.<br />

Posted By: <b>leon</b><p>Almost every time I have emailed a seller I have been able to tell, by what they say and how they say it, if the items and themselves are legit. What is encouraging about looking at this sellers other items is that not every one is Cobb, Wagner, Ruth, or Matty. They have some low end items as well as nice ones. I firmly believe an email would be very telltale......fortunately I am not interested in pursuing any of their cards. I just got on my desk an E105 Bescher in a 7 holder. (thanks B/S/T) Mello mints are cool......regards

Red flags are flying all over the place as if it were a Soviet military parade. Texas? Looks like Kimpossible is trying to strike again. Kimpossible was selling fake tobacco issues as authentic items on eBay under different IDs a while back. I would keep track of that eBay ID and not touch a single item she has to sell.<br />
