Posted By: Paul
Now that I've finally figured out how to post images, I'm ready to show off a card that I acquired. It's a "mini-cabinet" card of Amos Rusie, about the size of a postcard. I recently obtained it in a trade with another board member, who obtained it from still another board member, so it may not be news to many of you.

Anyhow, what is particularly interesting about it is that it shows Rusie with the Reds, who he played with for all of three games -- the last three games of his career. Our resident photography expert kindly examined it for me and concluded it was made using a type of photography that ordinarily was used only when the picture was being produced in quantity. This suggests that it may have been publicly distributed, perhaps in honor of Rusie's arrival with the Reds.

If any of you have any further information about this card -- or even educated speculation -- I would greatly appreciate it. Anyway, here it is.

Posted By: Paul
There were two key events that led to my ability to post a scan. First, someone (I think it was Julie) mentioned that you cannot post a scan larger than 150KB. Most of my scans are larger. Second, I bought a new computer and the photo editing software that it came with has an icon that says something like "compress photos for posting on the web." With those two key bits of information, I used all of the mental tools available to me and was able to post an image.

Just about every ISP offers free web space that you can use to host your pictures and then link it it on the board.

by the way, neat card with a nice picture.

Jay

I like to sit outside drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home I would be arrested, so I go to baseball games and fit right in.
