Posted By: Ben
All indications point towards this being one of the rarest (and coolest) 20th century issues. I'm guessing these "fans" were handed out at games as a freebie, but I'm not sure. The four pictured below was lot 2331 of the Halper collection auction by Sotheby's in 1999, which went for $13,800. As far as I know, these 4 (Matty, Cobb, Chase, Doyle) are the only known examples. Does anyone know if the checklist has been expanded? Also, does anyone on the board own one or have any experience with these in the past? If so, I'd love to hear about it.

Posted By: Gary B.
Anyone know the dimensions of these "A Fan For A Fan" things were? They look to be of some size, and if I may say something really stupid, they are SO COOL looking!

Posted By: Ben
Gary - the standard catalogue has them at 7-1/4" in diameter and the handle is about 5" long. So yeah - they're quite large.
