Posted By: ChuckkieB
Check out the T206 JAKE BECKLEY PSA 5 Ebay auction below. I just picked up this card for $170. What gives???? I've noticed recently that there have been some verrrrrry wacky high bids for graded T206 cards on Ebay. Are these mis-informed consumers, over zealous collectors, or simply shill bidders ruining auctions. The bidding pattern of the underbidder in this auction seems a bit "odd".

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31718&item=5126973547&rd

[edited to give descriptive title]

Posted By: T206Collector
is that one guy put down something like $600 to start, and then another guy just kept bidding up to find the level at which the initial bid was made.

That is a crazy price for that card, but we've seen PSA 5 and higher HOF portraits selling above that on ebay this year -- it's all about the PSA registry, IMHO.

It is important when placing a high bid to be sure that if you win a lot that you actually want to pay as much as your high bid should another bid nearly that high as well.

Greg Busineau, the founder and owner of Legacy is a straightforward, honest, and reputable dealer in my experience. I have bought several cards from him in the past, primarily when he ran Superior Sports.
Jim
