Posted By: Ray
All,

Went to the auction again today and bought this odd baseball. I did so more cause of the older Green and red threading. It is an old D&M Baseball "Official League Ball" but thought this ball style was more 30's or 40's but on the sweet spot it is dated 1903 and above it states Monticello - then the team name has worn off. There is a name "Claude Lanman" under 1903. Is this ball really that old? I am suspicious. I paid $20 for it so no great shakes.

Thanks!! Only the past two were there any cool baseball items to speak of. The Spalding Trophy was buried on a shelf with a ton of old lamps (none sports related) and glassware. The ball was on a table mixed in (again) with glassware.

- Ray
