Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
An antique shop in my area has an A.J.Reach World Series Model No. 4 bat with a pretty nice Decal still fairly complete (I would guess 70-80% or more there--at least that is what I remember). This is the same model that was lot #2184 in the Sotheby's Halper Auction. Just wondering what a decent value on the bat really is, the one in Halper sold for quite a bit but figure it was a price anomaly (there were quite a few in that auction.) Anybody that has any info I would appreciate it.

Thanks
-Rhett

Based on the dozens of lots I closely tracked in that auction, I would guess that yours is worth about 65% of the final price realized in Halper/Sotheby's. That is assuming the condition is similar for both pieces.

There was a pretty consistent "rate of inflation" for that particular auction, and prices have also dipped a bit as of late. Hope this helps somewhat.
