Any help identifying this card would be appreciated.

It's on a dull card stock. The dimensions are 2 1/4 x 3 1/2. Hope this helps.

edited to add dimensions and stock....

Posted By: leon
If you can post a scan it will help, or you can send one to me, and I will post it for you. My initial guess is the W575-1 series OR Koester Bread series (they are almost impossible to tell apart) is what this might be. A scan can verify it. regards

Posted By: leon
Can you give us the dimensions and kind of card stock it's on? After seeing the scan I am going to guess some kind of post-WWII tribute card.....but not sure yet....regards

Posted By: Steve
Although I can't lay my hands on them at the moment, I have some of those cards. If I remember correctly, my Dad gave them to me with some other collector issue items when I was a kid. They are standard 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 size. There are other prewar players represented, all the ones I have are HOF'ers. I always thought they were along the lines of a TCMA issue, nothing too valuable. I do think they were issued sometime in the 70's, but I am not sure of the exact date of issue.

I hope this information helps. If needed, I can find them next weekend...they are packed away in my attic somewhere among all the boxes up there.

Posted By: Lillie
Thanks for your help Steve. I'd hate to make you search through your attic though. I appreciate your input. Maybe others will recognize it as well.

Posted By: Steve
Leon was kind enough to post the card on another part of the board. More information in that thread that may answer your question.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/153652/thread/1229371498/last-1229375336/help+ID%27ing+Ruth+card

Posted By: leon
Woops...sorry about that Lillie. I did in fact post the question over there and found out they are a newer (relative to Ruth's playing days) issue, TCMA, from the 1980's. I forgot to let you know though....glad we could help...regards

Posted By: Anonymous
Thanks for everyone's help.

The card background has been used at other times including with the American Caramel cards. I'd love to hear from anyone who might have this identical card. The front says "Babe Ruth, Rightfielder" and the back is totally blank.
