Posted By: <b>Kevin O'Gara</b><p>this is a 6 sided lemonpeel i got many years ago with these 2 bats most likely 1860s to 1870. the ball is about 11/12 to 12 inches around. the bats are 39 inches an 30 inches. the name of the kid is on the one bat and his picture is in the photo. has anyone seen another 6 sided ball and do you know what it would be worth. thanks kevin<a href="http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/?action=view&current=P1010002-3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/P1010002-3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br /><a href="http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/?action=view&current=P1010003-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/P1010003-2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br /><a href="http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/?action=view&current=P1010001-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/P1010001-2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><a href="http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/?action=view&current=P1010004-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/P1010004-2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br /><a href="http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/?action=view&current=P1010005-3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/P1010005-3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br /><a href="http://s145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/?action=view&current=P1010005-4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r233/kyle9190/P1010005-4.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br><br>Kevin O'Gara<br />baseballrelics@yahoo.com

Posted By: <b>Kevin O'Gara</b><p>mike h, the early balls were 11 + inches around and there was no manufacturers .since it is large it took 6 pieces to cover it. the only place i saw a six panel was on the 1860s cover of base ball as viewed by a muffin by taber bros. it was an early publication with baseball depictions and on the cover it shows 6 panel balls.<br><br>Kevin O'Gara<br />baseballrelics@yahoo.com

Posted By: <b>Mike H</b><p>Yep, most were home made or from small manufacturers, but most I've seen or read about were 8-10". In 1854 the official size moved from 9 to 10 1/4". I know your ball is good, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen a lemon peel that large. I've seen tiny examples the size of ping-pong balls.<br />
