Posted By: Alan Elefson
Hi-
I have had this RPPC for several months and the identity of the two men featured has been bothering me since I acquired it. Normally, I assume that it is Joe Blow from Idaho and his cousin John, but these two look very familiar to me. Specifically the guy in the black hat reminds me of Hal Chase (its the hat more than anything else). Any ideas from this board? I apologize for this type of post as I normally do not think anyone famous would be on this type of anonymous piece, but there is something about the look to these two that I figured I would post to see what others thought.
Thanks in advance,
Alan Elefson
aelefson@hotmail.com

Was thinking Charlie Pride and Henry Ford myself.

To be honest, though, I'd have to go with your first impression, a homey sort of picture postcard, couple of average Joes who enjoyed America's pastime. Actually a cool Americana piece in its own right, but I don't personally believe its Hal. Never seen a pic of him in civvies though, but it'd have to be a massive coincidence if so.

Posted By: Alan Elefson
Thank you for your responses! I really wanted to make sure that I didn't go to trade this RPPC and later discover that it showed a well known baseball player (or 2). However, if this board thinks the same as I do (a variant on Joe Blow from Idaho), then I think I am safe to say I wouldn't be trading away a treasure without knowing about it.
Thanks again,
Alan
