Posted By: <b>Robert S</b><p>This one's message refers to the first tie game in World Series history. It's postmarked from the World Series in 1907:<br /><br /><img src="http://vintageball.com/1907_VO_Hammon_Cubs.jpg"><br /><br />The message reads: "Hello Nick. 12 inning tie. The Cubs are all right."<br /><br />Indeed, in the opening game of the World Series, the contest was halted after twelve innings due to darkness. Score: Cubs 3, Tigers 3.

Here's one from a pretty decent outfielder whose last name was Meusel (note the sig on the back; it's from his mid-teens Pacific Coast League days with Los Angeles) (ps - Robert, please email me when you get a chance):<br /><br /><img src="http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j154/bcampf/irish1.jpg"><br /><br /><img src="http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j154/bcampf/irish_Back.jpg">

Posted By: <b>Steve Murray</b><p>Addressee is James Byrnes who was a member of the 1906 Philadelphia A's appearing in just 10 games. That was his only major league season and he went West and played several years in the PCL appearing on both the 1909 and 1911 Obak cards. Sender unknown.<br /><img src="http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5/jacklitsch1/Elite%20100/PhillyByrnes.jpg"><br /><img src="http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5/jacklitsch1/SGC%20Postcards/PhillyByrnesBack.jpg"><br /><img src="http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5/jacklitsch1/Postcards/slPhilaALPostedWords.jpg"><br /><img src="http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g5/jacklitsch1/Obak/Byrnes.jpg"><br /><br /><br />

Posted By: <b>Shawn Chambers</b><p>Hey Brian,<br /><br />Love the Viox!! He is sort of a "hometown hero" since he came back to Lexington KY and managed the local boys after his big league career was over. He was very beloved as a player here and as a manager. I have always wanted to see more photos of him, but not too many around. That is a super postcard! I hope to get his T-210 card someday, but they are a bit scarce. <br /><br />Shawn

Posted By: <b>Dan Bretta</b><p>Nebraska Indians postcard sent from Dan Tobey - more famous for his boxing ring announcing he did later in life...elected to the Boxing Hall of Fame. The card was sent to Luke Wagner, Honus' Brother who apparently also went by the nickname "Dutch". I have never seen another signature for Dan Tobey. The letter is kind of hard to read, but Tobey is appealing to Wagner to join the Nebraska Indians team.<br /><br /><a href="http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/nudan92/Nebraska%20Indians%20Baseball%20Team/?action=view&current=00neb2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/nudan92/Nebraska%20Indians%20Baseball%20Team/00neb2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br /><br /><a href="http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/nudan92/Nebraska%20Indians%20Baseball%20Team/?action=view&current=00neb3.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/nudan92/Nebraska%20Indians%20Baseball%20Team/00neb3.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br /><br /><a href="http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/nudan92/Nebraska%20Indians%20Baseball%20Team/?action=view&current=00neb4.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b331/nudan92/Nebraska%20Indians%20Baseball%20Team/00neb4.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Posted By: <b>Martin Neal</b><p>Most of you have seen this before but from what I can gather, this 1906 V. O. Harmon postcard (which is postmarked between the end of the pennant race and the start of the 1906 World Series between the underdog White Sox and the Cubs) was sent by Anna Busch (nee Anna Anheuser, sister-in-law of Adolphus Busch and daughter of Eberhard Anhauser) to her niece Nellie Anheuser. It reads " These are what all Chicago is raving about" Anna. It seems the Anheuser-Busch families may have had a long standing interest in baseball before the family's purchase of the St. Louis Cardinals.<br /><br /><img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e268/123MARTINS/File0032.jpg"><br /><br /><img src="http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e268/123MARTINS/postcardback.jpg"><br />

Posted By: <b>Anonymous</b><p>The back of this pc is better than the front, and that's saying something given that the front shows Jackson, McMullen, and the rest. It was postmarked on the day of Game 2 of the 1919 World Series and reads, "The Reds are my boys! It looks as if these fellows were snowed under. Will see them perform here the next three days as I was lucky enough to get a reserved seat." The sender had no idea of the history he was watching unfold. An unused copy would be much less desirable than one with this provenance.<br /><br /><img src="http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j154/bcampf/blacksoxpc1.jpg"><br /><br /><img src="http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j154/bcampf/blacksoxpc2.jpg">
