Posted By: Brian C.With Yankee Stadium set to close this year, it seems appropriate to share this one of the Polo Grounds... and the message it contains. The postcard was mailed on 3/2/23, just six weeks before Yankee Stadium opened on 4/18/23. The second paragraph reads, "The Yankees' new field is within sight of the Polo Grounds. It will be ready by April. Much bigger and nicer than this." My usual thought is Joe Blow from Iowa, but the gentleman holding the bat has a face that I believe I have seen before. Also, when I have shown the RPC to a couple of dealers, they too said at least one of the faces look familiar. So, I figured I would piggy back on this post, and see if anyone else recognizes either face. I assume as I stated above that this is just Joe Blow from Iowa (or somewhere else).
