Posted By: Shane Hardie
This contract is from 1962. I is a contract of the late Jim Beauchamp. It has the signatures of HOF NL president Warren Giles and the late Cardinals GM Bing Devine. Any ideas on it's value?

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
Please post a clearer/larger scan of the Giles signature. It appears to be a rubber-stamped version, but be sure to post an enlarged version so I can be sure. Unfortunately, if that's the case, the contract loses most of it's value. If the Giles signaure proves to be authentic, the piece might be worth $75. Beauchamp's signature (even on a contract) is of practically zero demand. If my suspicions are confirmed about the Giles, the piece's value drops nearly in half.

Posted By: George Dreher
That is an authentic Warren Giles signature. I would bump the value up a little. If you put it on eBay today, I predict it sells for $100.

Posted By: Shane Hardie
I didn't have time to scan it (I may later on), but I did have time to look it over with a loupe. The Giles signature is definitely signed with an ink pen. However, I have reason to doubt the Devine. It does appear stamped because the ink so so uniform.

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
The Devine is signed in fountain pen. It's fine. I'd still need to see a better scan of Giles, as it's not clear enough for anyone to make a proper judgement without seeing it in higher resolution. Keep in mind that many of these were rubber-stamped by Giles' office (although there are plenty of authentically-signed versions as well).

Posted By: Jodi Birkholm
Giles is ballpoint. Good! That certainly helps value, although I still stand by my original estimate of $75. More power to you if you were to fetch a greater price.
