Posted By: Bob B.
Guess I need to look at more of those auction catalogs- Did anyone here win the Wagner Bat auctioned by Heritage Oct. 26 2007? Went for under $2,200 with juice. Anyone know anything about that bat? Thanks.

I could probably live with a cracked handle on a bat, but severe checking and missing wood? Too much damage. I am unfamiliar with Taube and Malta's authentication coding - what does GU2 mean?

Posted By: Dan Bretta
As far as I know the MEARS number has to do with probability that a player used the bat and not with condition. A1 meaning there is no provenance and the player almost certainly has nothing to do with the bat where A10 means there is lock solid evidence of use by the player.
