Posted By: Jon Canfield
For many years now, I've had this Ted Williams glove and know nothing about it. Hoping someone can give me some more information on it such as value, age, etc.

The glove is a Wilson, Ted Williams pro model with number A2210 on the palm. The palm also says it is hand formed grease set pocket. There is no stringing between fingers and the back clasp is a single button with leather strap.

Thanks and happy holidays.

Posted By: Mike H
Nice glove first of all. Can you show a photo of the back of the glove please? Also, how is the inside lining (any holes etc.)? It is a late 40s glove. It's not pro model or an expensive store model based on the vinyl piping. It does however, appear to be in nice condition and the stamping is quite clear. Probably in the $80-$100 range.

If you know how to clean and lube a glove properly, do so. If not, go the the glove collector forum and read the section on glove cleaning before you do anything or simply keep it like it is.

Thanks for posting.

http://www.vintagebaseballgloveforum.com/phpBB2/index.php

Posted By: Jimmy
yes 1940s model - one of the more popular gloves used by many baseball players, condition looks good and use some mink oil to clean it up. I would say value 150.00-200.00, but you can find them for around 100.00 or so

great glove always like seeing these

Take care

Jimmy
Posted By: Mike H
This is not a glove that would have been used by professional players, rather highschoolers, town teams, etc.
In my oppinion, mink oil is a no no. Oils can add weight to leather, harden over time, and attract dirt. Many glove collectors and dealers recommend Lexol (applied with a soft cloth or very soft bristle brush) to clean and pure Lanolin or Vasoline to condition after it has dried.
