Posted By: Alan Elefson
Hi-
I was curious if anyone might be able to provide me with any information regarding the viewmaster slides scanned below. I am looking for a year of issue, approximate value (I know mine are in rough shape), and whether any other baseball ones exist. Included in the scans below is a sleeve. All three were purchased in identical sleeves (7 wonders of the world), but I thought I heard there was a slightly rare (?) baseball sleeve. If there is, I would love to see one.
Thanks in advance,
Alan Elefson

Posted By: dennis
there was a sleeve that held the wonders of the world sleeves. it was white and had a green image of a pitcher. i sold mine a few years ago so i am going on memory.i think they were from 1953/4. i got about $60.00 for the 3 disks and a view master viewer of that era. they are fairly common on ebay. these are the only baseball issue that i have ever seen.

Posted By: Dan Bretta
I have these three as well and they are the only ones I have seen...I think that's it for baseball in the viewmaster series. They are from 1953 and each one came with a small booklet. I only have one of the booklets with my set.

Posted By: Fred Y
Here are a couple more pics of the 1953 ViewMaster 3 BB reels, the outer packet the 3 came in and one of the booklets.

I have had these since date of issue--the ViewMaster was a hot item in my younger days of the late '40s--early '50s. I have all my original reels, the viewer, a projector that showed the pics on a screen or wall and a Bakelite storage box to holder them.

The brown singe marks on the outer packet came from the hot bulb in the projector!
