Posted By: Rob Fouch
Hi, guys. I posted about this in the main forum and never got a response. I now have photos. Can anyone tell me the era and approximate value for something like this? Here's my original post:.

"I'd post this on the memorabilia part, but I have some time constraints and want more people to see it. Hope that's OK.

On a road trip, I stopped at an antique store and came across an old framed photo of the Pittsburgh Athletic Club baseball team. I don't know much about old photos and I'm not very good at identifying eras from uniforms and such, but thought maybe one of you folks might have some information on the Pittsburgh Athletic Club. I did some googling and the club seems to have a pretty impressive football history that dates back to the 1890s. But I couldn't find much on the baseball team. Anyone have info you might be willing to share?

Sorry, I don't have a scan. Wish I'd remembered that I had my digital camera in the car. I probably could have talked the antique store owner into letting me take a picture. It looked like it might be from the 20s, maybe earlier.

Anyway, on my return trip home tomorrow (Sunday), I'll be passing by the store, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.
Rob Fouch"

Here are the photos. There was some glare from the lights. It's framed and inside glass. Looks like it's mounted on cardboard.

Posted By: Dan Bretta
It's pre-1920 for sure. I'd guess around 1900-1905 based on uniform style, cleats and gloves. I don't know anything about the PAC though so I can't help you there.

As far as value goes...unless you can find someone famous in the photo then depending on the size of the photo...bigger = more $$$...I would guess anywhere from $75-$100 unless you could find someone who collects early Pittsburgh baseball.

Posted By: Rob Fouch
Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. Yeah, I don't really recognize anyone in the photo, though the guy in the back row, fourth from the left, who's looking away from the camera, looks somewhat familiar. Didn't buy the photo. Just thought it was cool. Figured if someone ID'd a legendary player early in his career, I could make the trip back and pick it up.

Thanks again. If anyone has any other info, let me know.
Rob
