Posted By: Keith
I just picked up this vintage Baseball uni at an estate auction. I believe it is a jersey for the Percy Jones Army Hospital baseball team.
The jersey is fairly large (size 46), has a zipper front, and Percy Jones is sewn on the front, and number 29 on back. I haven't seen many zipper jersey, are they uncommon or am I just inexperienced. I have included a scan of the tag. The Percy Jones hospital was open from 1942 to I think 1954. Does the Wilson tag fit with this era?

The Hospital treated many WWII wounded vets (I think Bob Dole was actually treated there), and I have just started some research into the hospital and possible baseball ties. It would be pretty neat if a major leaguer spent some time there during the war but so far haven't found anything like that.
Any advice on where to start with my research?
