Posted By: Eric
A question for the experts of the board from a relative newbie. Are all color Fro-joy uncut sheets replicas? Do they have any value whatsoever?

Per SCD I believe only B&W cards were ever released. Just want to verify.

Posted By: dan mckee
All color ones and 90% of black and white ones are reprints. Theoriginals are black and white only. It is very unfortunate that this issue was ruined by the reprints. The ebay sellers selling color ones as real from estate sales are thieves!

Posted By: Eric
Thanks Dan. I did not spend that much money and had a feel it was a reprint. If nothing else it does make a nice display piece.

Posted By: leon
Dan knows more than me but I would say closer to 95% of the black and white ones are fake...and 100% of the color ones (as you said, Dan). I did have a very unusual one once, that was colored, and did look real.....but I still returned it to a well known dealer, who was fooled too....

Posted By: runscott
Here's a fairly high-res scan of my Frojoy Ruth. I know it's real because I bought it from Scott Gaynor - he shipped in the original Halper Collection holder, with auction seal. edited to add: this is a Conlon photo - Ruth was polite and stuck his gum on top of his hat for the shot!

Posted By: dan
yes it is around, bob bostoff of empire had one on ebay fairly recently and steve verkman had one about a year ago. Lew has ahd a few, I remember returning one about 200 years ago, sorry Lew, I should have kept it. IT is large and I believe the pose is similar to the R309 pose but could be mistaken, my brain cells are going.

And for the record, Leon, you bypassed me long ago when you started reading up on the old stuff. I have never even read through Lew's books but really need to. I do think I have you out smarted with Wacky Packages but that is about it. Dan.

Posted By: hankron
Along with the uncut sheet, the premium is an actual photograph (not a mechancial print) of Ruth. As such it is easy to identify, especially if accompanied with the original mailer.
