Posted By: leon
Great topic.....here's the few T216's I have....

1. Kotten-Extra Mild(on back)
Bender
thick stock- type 1

3. Kotten- 1,2,3, (on back)
Bender
thick stock- type 1

2. Kotten- Never Go Out (on back)
Lobert
thin stock- type 2

4. Mino (back)
Gibson
thick stock- type 1

5. Virginia Extra
Dooin
thin stock- type 2

6. Virginia Extra
Doyle
thin stock- type 2

So far I have seen the "Kotten Extra Mild" and the "Kotten 1,2,3," and the Mino's with "only" thick stock. To the contrary I have "only" seen the other backs on thin stock, be only on thin stock These are very preliminary findings and most likely a board member will have seen other varieties. I think we covered this before and this was still the case....best regards
Posted By: fkw
The T216 group has 5 different back variations (3 are thick stock, 2 are thin stock).

The T216-1 Kotton backs with "Kotton Tobacco ..." and "Kotton Cigarettes Never Go Out Extra Mild..." are both thick stock with glossy surface. The "Kotton Cigarettes Never Go Out Made By..." back is thin stock nonglossy. All T216-2 Minos are thick stock (glossy), and all T216-3 Virgina Extra backs are thin paper (nonglossy).

The cards I have or have recently owned are:

Chief Bender (white cap) T216-1-2(type 2 back) "Kotton Cigarettes Never Go Out Extra Mild..." (thick)
Rube Marquard T216-1-2(type 2 back) "Kotton Cigarettes Never Go Out Extra Mild..." (thick)
Christy Mathewson T216-1-3(type 3 back) "Kotton Cigarettes Never Go Out Made By..." (thin)
Joe Tinker T216-2 "Mino" (thick)

Frank

Posted By: Brian C
I have a T216 Honus Wagner; throwing pose; identifies him as a second baseman; thicker variety; Kotton back that (if I remember correctly, I'll have to double check) says "Never Go Out"

Posted By: leon
They all say "Never Go Out" (except the 1,2,3,variety) ..the ones that say "Extra Mild" are more common, imo......and are on the thick stock and less scarce than the ones that don't say "Extra Mild" and are on thin stock....later
