Posted By: <b>Nickinvegas</b><p>I know this is a little off topic for a Pre-War board, but here goes:<BR><BR>What is the Toughest(rarity) Post war(HOF)Rookie card? <BR><BR>This topic was brought up the other night in the chat room and I keep on thinking about it(as opposed to thinking about something constructive(work,family, finance, religion ect.) <BR><BR>My guess is 1948 Leaf Larry Doby or Paige. I have hunted for a nice example with a tab for a long time and the only few I have ever seen are some FR - GD examples without tabs in major auction Kahn's lots (and only a couple of these)! Posted By: <b>Marc S.</b><p>The 1972 Puerto Rican Mike Schmidt sticker, although not rare compared to other examples given here - is notoriously tough to find centered. Posted By: <b>hankron</b><p>If you're talking oddball stuff, the rarest post-war rookie card (as in, can't get any rarer) is the 1975 Hostess George Brett. Though the card was designed and the proofs exist, the actual finished card was never issued and does not exist.

Posted By: <b>Paul</b><p>I'm not sure it's pre-war, or a "card", but George Kell's 1945 team issue with the A's is quite tough. So is the 1948 Safe-T card of Early Wynn with the Senators. That's Wynn's first card, but 9 years after his debut, so it's tough to call a rookie card. Of course, none of this compares in rarity to Ryan's psychotic stuff.
