True Date of W574 issue

Posted By: <b>Paul</b><p>I've always liked the W574 issue. A few black and white photos that were probably never issued in strips, including (apparently) Luke Appling's rookie card. As far as I know, the issue has always been dated to 1932. But look at this picture of the Al Simmons card. He's clearly shown with the White Sox, who he didn't join until 1933. Was the W574 set actually issued in 1933? Posted By: <b>Eric</b><p>Hey Paul,<BR><BR>I have the Appling card as well, and agree that the set should be dated 1933 at earliest, with 1934 an even stronger possibiliy (because cards generally come out a year after the photo indicates minimally). If someone had the entire set, and was able to do more research, it would be great to see an accurate year established.<BR><BR>E.
