Posted By: TBob
You wonder how this jerk continues to get away with selling fake Babe Ruth Fro-Joy cards on ebay? Despite many attempts from collectors to turn him in to eBay, eBay turns a deaf ear and refuses to discontinue his listings of these reproductions. I personally sent a very long email to eBay explaining in great detail not only why this item was a counterfeit but why the seller KNEW it was and has knowledge of it. This is not misrepresentation, this is outright FRAUD. Carefully examine his auctions and you'll see that none of his many, many auctions are private EXCEPT the Fro-Joy card auctions. Thank God the prices have gone down from those ridiculous $150-200 purchases, but he is still running his scam, now with one day auctions and private auctions.
I know we can't protect everyone from scams on eBay and a lot of us have done what we could with this scumbag and others of his ilk, but it sure doesn't help when the fleeced buyers complain but then turn around and give positive feedback, instead of negative, largely because they are afraid of retaliatory feedback from the Scumcollectible. here's an example:
+ (positive) "was a reprint didnt say that in his listing" Buyer frosty2727( 181) Feb-02-04 16:27 Private auction
Sigh....
