According to SGC's website this should have been a 10 with this centering. Do they measure centering from the best (highest) corner? Or is it possible the card has just slid under the holder's "frame"?
http://www.teletrade.com/cards/lot.asp?auction=1442&lot=1011

As much as some do not like PSA's system of having qualifiers -- this one truly deserves the MC qualifier....

A nice card if you collect T-206 HOFers in affordable grade -- but very different than what I would expect to see on a straight 4 VG/EX

I have e93 Griffith that is center 90/10 and has better corners than this Lajoie, but it got a 40, the max a 90/10 card can get according to their guidlines. And my Griffith wwas graded before this Lajoie was, so it's not 'early' grade.

Jay

Posted By: Elliot
There are numerous examples like the Lajoie, such as

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2734601486&category=31718

SGC seems to be very lenient regarding the centering of cards, especially t206's.

Let's face it, with any grading company, you still need to see a good quality scan, before you purchase the card. Having said that I still get an extra degree of comfort when buying over the internet, if the card has been graded by a respectable company.
