Posted By: <b>Hankron</b><p>I forget his name (Ortiz?), but I had an index card signed by a player who played very briefly before WWII. He added an ',MD' after his name which I assumed meant be became a medical doctor.

The later is rare, and the former is almost nonexistant. As someone who never played Major League Ball and is not an MD, I'm common.

He's on the T206 set, Colgan's Chips, T205, Imperial Tobacco, and probably some others.<BR><BR>All of the medical school applicants to Hopkins at the time had to have bachelor's degrees, and were fluent in French or German.
