Posted By: jay behrens
Done to one set left to figure out. ACC designation is d380, comprised mostly of minor leaguers, but I forge thte name of the bakery that issued it, so not sure if it int he SCD big book. Once I figure out which players made the majors my database should be complete.

This database is comprehensive in that it does not list every card that every player appeared on. I generally only listed the most common sets that a player appeared in. Players such as Ruth, Cobb, etc I listed one or 2 sets since there is no shortage of cards avaiable from those players.

for those not familiar with my project, I want to collect one card of every player that appeared on a card between 1908 and 1945. Cards with multiple players are not of interest, so they are not in my database, same for pins, large size cards (i.e larger than a post card) and anything else I felt was not a 'card'.

The total number of different players with cards currently stands at 2299, 899 of which appear on only one card.

I also am curious as to hard hard cards from the following sets are to locate:

Father & Son Shoes
Tarzan Bread
Star Player
Koester Bread

Jay

There 2301 different players on cards from the span I am interested in. 880 appear on only one card.

As for the D380 Clemente Brothers Bakery issue, the SCD big does not list them, so if someone has a checklist, I would greatly appreciate getting it.

I am also curious as to how hard Voskamp Pirates cards are to locate.

Jay

Posted By: Glen V
Clements are listed in the minor league section of the SCD.

Voskamps are pretty obscure. Mike Wheat sold a small group of them about two years ago. Since then I've only seen one offered (in the Collectible Classics Auction).

A Tarzan "common" sold for over 1K in the last Lipset auction. I've seen less Tarzan cards than any other on your list.

Posted By: jay berhens
Thanks for the info. Guess the old Tarzans are gonna be a long time in waiting to fill the set. 3 players make their only appearance on Tarzan cards.

Didn't realize there was a minor league section in that book. Looks like a bumch more work in front of me.

Jay
