Posted By: JC
Hello everyone, I follow many Ebay auctions and view this board often. I would like to support sellers on this board, however, I don't know many of your user names? I buy stuff on Ebay under husband-of-tammy and I sell Misc. stuff under wife-of-jc. I'd really like to know who was rockets_lover to? He brought a lot of action to Ebay for a month or so.... JC

Posted By: warshawlaw
i use a sniping service on all bids that matter, so there is no point in anyone marking my name to dog my bids. I'm not suggesting in any way that this is the purpose of this thread, but it did happen to me with a "rival" (enemy?) who intentionally ran up my bids on several items (I was able to prove it because he engaged in the classic ploy of topping my bid, withdrawing his bid, then rebidding for a dime less than my top bid).

PS: today's score is popup killer 5 popups 0. Gad, I love it.

Posted By: TBob
...TBob (duh!). I can give you 6 or 7 other board members' screen names but I'll let them post them if they want and respect their privacy (?) The reason I know them is because I have been sniped by so many of them and I have a long memory, although getting shorter ever year of middle age.

Posted By: JC
Thanks for all the positive feedback. I won't feel that bad now when I get sniped. It's funny, last year in Chicago if I introduced myself as JC, it was no big deal. But, if I mentioned husband-of-tammy, I would get more intrest. I hope my Ebay name won't be put on my tombstone... Best JC

Posted By: runscott
I know "husbandoftammy" allright - the guy who always knows what I'm "thinking" of bidding on, even though I don't place a bid! I guess we both just have good taste!

Posted By: runscott
It describes the only time you saw a triple play:

1452 - pitcher throws to second baseman for a force out, second baseman to third baseman, tagging the runner for second out, back to the catcher to tag the guy sliding into home for the final out.

sj - you were watching the San Jose Bees

owall - you took a snap-shot, which is hanging on your wall.

Posted By: MW
Sjowall is a Swedish author. Perhaps the '1492' is some type of reference number for a book. Or, maybe your ID is some type of reference to 1452 and Scotland's James II.

Posted By: julie
Ben has guessed the "1452" outright (in an e-mail)--it's the year Richard III was born. MW has apparently guessed the second part, but doesn't deign to say who the author is or what she wrote.

Oh well--didn't want to give that card away anyway.
